January 5-12 we are working on pep band until our spring concert songs arrive.
Dear Parent of 6th-8th Grade Band Students,
Welcome to another exciting year in band! We will have a very busy year this year and we start things off right away. From the first day of band class, we will be working on marching for the two homecoming parades (DLB and MSU) that we will be a part of this year. I am excited as the 52 members of the 6th-8th grade band will make the majority of a very large and fun to watch marching band. We will start on the streets by the second week of school, and we may even get some work done on the football field! Also, your student is invited and encouraged to be a part of the pep band once that season arrives! There is a large list of dates that I will get to your students as soon as they are all finalized, but please do not be alarmed as I put all of the possible pep band dates on this sheet knowing that many of them will eventually have conflicts and have to be canceled. Your student is not required to be at any pep band event, but I ask for their assistance so that we can have a great sound to represent our school at games. Also to be eligible to participate in tournaments and miss some school time I ask that students take part in most of the pep band events throughout the season.
There are three concerts this year and all three will take place in Des Lacs along with the high school band and choir programs this year. There will also be opportunity to see your student during the elementary concerts during the day, but we won’t be participating in the evening events in Burlington.
As always if you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will do all I can to answer them and help out in any way. Look for updated information on my website as the year goes on, and I can’t wait to get started. Thanks for your support!
Sincerely
Tyler Heser
